The Story behind Bob&Bella

My name is Ella but when I was born my cousin forgot what I was called. He jokingly called me "Bob"... and the name stuck. My mum has always nicknamed me "Bella", so the two naturally came together to become the name of my business!

I have always been mesmerised by art and creativity in whatever form it may come, but in particular I was drawn to painting. My grandfather was an incredible painter. His watercolour paintings which hang in the homes of various family members have always been a source of inspiration for me. I also find particular inspiration in Nature. I love attempting to capture the simple beauty in the petals of a flower or the texture on the cap of a mushroom. I firmly believe in the sharing of art and the importance of filling your space with things you find inspiring and beautiful or giving that feeling to another by way of a gift. This is why I decided to start my business and share my art with people. Art brings people together whether you give an original painting as a gift on a special occasion or send a postcard with a hand painted design just to show someone you are thinking of them.

In 2025 I entered a landscape painting I had made after a trip to Wales to the Royal Watercolour Society Open and to my surprise it was selected for the exhibition. Seeing something I had painted hanging on a gallery wall filled me with even more determination. I realised for the first time since 2023, when I had started to take my painting more seriously, that I actually felt confident in my abilities as an artist. While my journey with art is far from over and I find myself constantly coming up against new challenges, I am grateful to have the opportunity to create and share my love of painting.
